Saturday, July 9th will be the fifth year that Hursthouse has designed and built the Jazz Garden at Jazz Fest Glen Ellyn. Come see what the Hursthouse Design Team has in store for this year’s garden!

Bob and Robbi Hursthouse’s beautifully landscaped home to be featured on the Naperville Garden Club’s Garden Walk on Saturday, June 25th, 2011 from 10:00am – 3:00pm. Five Naperville gardens will be on this year’s tour.

Jeff True, Vice President of Operations at Hursthouse, Inc. to teach Front Yard Design at Butterfield Park District on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

Neenah Paper Company recognizes creative excellence, technical craftsmanship and the ability to highlight the unique features of their paper. Hursthouse pocket folder and business card won a Silver Award for the midwest region of the United States. The Hursthouse marketing materials are designed in partnership with White Space, LLC.

Tom Selinger, Director of Design, to teach “Design Presentations – The Colored Pencil” on two Saturdays, March 26th and April 2nd, 2011,  from 9:00a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe.

Joshua Griffin, Designer, to teach at the Garden Clubs of Illinois meeting in Warrenville on Feb. 10th, 2011. Joshua will teach two sessions for their certificate program. The first session will be, “The History of Landscape Design in America” and the second, “The Landscape Design Process”.

Tom Selinger, Director of Design, to teach a Landscape Graphics Studio course at the University of Illinois on February 22, 2011. The workshop is to be presented for 30 students enrolled in the Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, and Urban Planning departments.

Greg and Jeff will present Sustainable Landscapes, and Tom will lead a Graphics Workshop.

The Hursthouse Team just received word of the 2011 Excellence in Landscape Gold Award. The awards program will be Friday, March 11th at the Belvedere in Elk Grove Village. The award is for the design/build of this Glen Ellyn home landscape.

Joshua Griffin, Designer, taught at the Garden Clubs of Ilinois meeting  in Warrenville on November 11, 2010. He taught two sessions for their Certificate Program. The first  was Design Resources and second, Basics of  a Site Plan.

Bob Hursthouse, President of Hursthouse Landscape Architects and Contractors, accepted a regional spirit award from John P. Calamos Sr. (Calamos Asset Management). The award from The Business Ledger, honored the company's contribution to Chicago's western suburbs and Du Page County, at the 11th annual awards presentation on September 16, 2010 at Danada House in Wheaton, Illinois.

In August of 2010, Greg Schaumburg was named to a 3 year term on the Board of Directors for the Midwest Ecological Landscape Association. 

The fourth annual Jazz Fest Glen Ellyn was held on Saturday, July 10th, A new Hursthouse Jazz Garden transformed Main Street between Crescent Blvd and Pennsylvania Avenue into a promenade of lush gardens, with relaxed seating oases, food and beverage tents and concert seating for the live jazz.. Hursthouse, Inc. celebrated their 20th anniversary at Jaz z Fest partying along with family, friends, and clients!

On Friday, March 12, 2010, Hursthouse, Inc. received an “Excellence in Landscaping” 2010 Gold Award from the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association for the "Forever Home" in Downers Grove.

2010 marks the 25th year that Robbi Hursthouse has been running the garden play program at Children’s Memorial Hospital. By enabling young patients to select and nurture their own plants, this award-winning program offers a rich creative outlet that can enhance well-being and expedite healing.

Hursthouse was featured in the Sunday July 19th, 2009 Chicago Tribune “Garden” section. The article showcased “Maximum Yard” making landscape choices that have staying power.

Jeffrey True was nominated and elected to a 2-year term on the  Illinois Landscape Contractors Association's Board of Directors in 2009.

The May 2009 issues of the Southern Illinois University Chicago alumni newsletter and SIU Alumni Magazine, feature two articles on “A Saluki You Should Know”. The first highlights Bob and Robbi Hursthouse, SIU graduates, and their company, Hursthouse, Inc. The second examines Robbi’s background and her 24 year-old Horticultural Therapy practice.

The May/June 2009 cover of Naperville Magazine  featured a photo of Bob & Robbi Hursthouse’s backyard viewed from inside their Naperville home.
